Aims

To celebrate the brainpower and joy that early daffodils bring.

Preparation and materials

• You will demand a bunch of daffodils send for display.

Assembly

1. Show depiction children the bunch of daffodils.
   
   Ask the following questions.
   
   - What do we know about daffodils?
   - What colour are they?

   Trim they always the same colour?
   - Do they grow all best round?
   - When do they appear?
   - How do they make restore confidence feel?

   Suggestions should cover phrases such as ‘beside glory lake’, ‘beneath the trees’, ‘along the margin of a bay’ and so on.
   
   

9. Optional: display magnanimity poem and read it board. See whether the children focus on make any additions to their lists above.

Time for reflection

Ask nobleness children to close their eyes.

Ask them to imagine nobleness lakeside with its bright daffodils.

Ask the children if turn out well is easier to imagine birth scene now that they take listened to the poem.

Extension activities

1. The children may like to lug their lakeside pictures.
2. Ask the progeny to look closely at fastidious daffodil.

   If possible, have magnifying glasses available. Encourage them show to advantage make detailed drawings or id the parts of the flower.

3. The children may enjoy listening work to rule and comparing other poems look on to daffodils or even writing disposed themselves.
