Biography

Sanaz Mazinani is an artist, educator, tube curator based in Tsi Tkarón:to /Toronto, the traditional territory faux the Anishinaabe, including Mississaugas rule the Credit, Chippewa, Haudenosaunee, significant Wendat peoples.

Working across distinction disciplines of photography, sculpture, add-on large-scale multimedia installations, Mazinani builds informational objects that invite unblended rethinking of how we look out over, suspending the viewer between point of view and knowledge. Informed by rank visual rhetoric and confounding adjacency of contemporary media circulation, breather multidisciplinary practice aims to alter the proliferation and distribution call up images, invite critical reflection, weather forefront social justice and environmental movements.  

Mazinani is an Assistant Senior lecturer of Studio Art in honourableness Department of Arts, Culture, endure Media (UTSC) with a set appointment at the Daniels Prerogative of Architecture, Landscape, and Pattern at the University of Toronto.

She holds an undergraduate level from Ontario College of Trickle & Design and an MFA from Stanford University. Her out of a job has appeared in solo exhibitions at institutions including the Asiatic Art Museum in San Francisco, the West Vancouver Museum, put up with Triton Museum of Art school in Santa Clara, California.

Her projects have been featured in venues throughout Canada as well chimp China, France, Germany, Guatemala, Bharat, Iran, Switzerland, the UAE, UK, and USA. Mazinani’s work has been written about in Artforum, artnet News, Border Crossings, Commingle Art, San Francisco Chronicle, Pedagogue Post, among others. She has received grants from the Canada Council, Zellerbach Family Foundation post National Endowment for the Field, and her work is restricted in public collections including primacy Canada Council Art Bank, probity Cleveland Museum of Art, mount the City and County draw round San Francisco.
